How Does It Work
Here’s how it works:
Tell us a little bit about your bub, and choose a meal plan that works for you 💚
* Orders placed by 10AM AEST Monday through Friday will be shipped within 2-5 business days.
You will receive a separate email once your order ships. ✨
Our food is organic when possible, locally sourced made fresh every week. We have carefully crafted these meals and finger foods to suit your baby’s and toddler’s developmental milestones. 🌱
Your meals will arrive FROZEN. No worries if you aren’t home to receive your box right when it arrives, we use insulated packaging that will ensure that your meals stay frozen in their box. After opening your Beets box, please store your meals in the freezer until you are ready to heat them.
Microwave: Remove the lid from cup and place unlidded cup in the microwave. Cook for 1 minute and test until heated through. Carefully mix and test temperature. Cool to desired temperature before serving.
Stovetop: Heat saucepan over medium heat. Empty food from cup into saucepan. We recommend adding 2 tablespoons of water (or another liquid of your choice) along to the saucepan to reach a better consistency. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until heated through, stirring frequently. Carefully mix and test temperature. Cool to desired temperature before serving.
Oven: Remove the lid from cup and place in the oven for approximately 15’. Carefully mix and test temperature. Cool to desired temperature before serving.
For Finger Foods:
Remove muffins from bag and place in the oven at 180C for 15’ or until heated through. Cool to desired temperature before serving.
After you receive your meals and snacks, make sure to pop them in the freezer! You can safely freeze them for up to 3 months and once thawed in the fridge, we recommend consuming them within 3 days. The expiration date is printed on each container.
Our meals are created by nutritionists and chefs with your baby’s milestones in mind. You can choose a plan that suits you, and your box will be delivered according to your baby’s development stage. If there are special needs or allergies, you can reach out to our customer service team who will assist in adjusting your plan or answering any questions.
Every baby is different. Prior to starting solids, we recommend getting the go-ahead from your pediatrician. Most babies are ready between 5-6 months, but this varies for every child.
B&B is absolutely worth it. The nutrition, flavours, variety, and convenience are among the top reasons we hear from our customers. But let’s dig into this a little more because, we know that parents have many options when it comes to baby food, from store-bought to making their own.
Each week, we shop, prep, and cook your baby’s meals using the same preparation methods you’d use at home. The food is made fresh in our local kitchen by expert chefs. We’ve thoughtfully curated a menu of meals and snacks that includes ingredients that expose your bub to flavour combinations that will create healthy and adventurous eaters for life.
We recommend starting Beets & Berries with bubs who are 8 months and older. Unlike purees, our meals are textured finger foods and our finger foods are chewable and really good for fine motor skills. We know that some babies show an interest in whole foods as early as 5 or 6 months of age and some are ready later.
Our outer box is from WOOLPACK, an award-winning, innovative insulation packaging solution made from 100% sheep’s wool. Woolpack is made from 100% biodegradable and compostable felted sheep’s wool, sealed within a recyclable food-grade wrap. You can recycle the food grade film off the Woolpack liner and place it into a soft plastics recycling bin at your nearest supermarket. For a list of locations close to you in Australia visit www.redcycle.net.au
As the wool felt is sustainable, compostable and biodegradable there are many ways it can be reused throughout the home and garden, besides just placing it in the green/compost bin! Some ideas we have seen include lining kitty litter trays, pet beds, as weed mats and mulch in the garden, lagging water pipes, lining hanging plant baskets, and protecting worm farms or beehives against the summer heat.
As for our Finger Foods pouches, they’re also fully recyclable under the REDCycle partnership in any soft plastics recycling bin [nearest supermarket].
We use BioPak packaging for our meals. You can recycle the lid [PET plastic] and either compost or recycle the bowl [paper bin].
It can be difficult to try something new. It can often take 10-20+ times of exposing your child to a new food before they eat it. A positive method to introduce a new food into your little one's diet is to present them with 2-3 foods that you know they will eat and a smaller helping of new food you would like them to try.
Even if your little one doesn’t eat new food, it’s important for them to see, smell, and touch it. Remember: Exposure doesn’t equal eating. It can take a while before your child is willing to put new food into their mouth. However, engaging your little one's other senses will make them more comfortable and familiar with new foods.
Absolutely - there are no commitments! If you’d like to pause, skip or make changes to your plan, email us at email@example.com 😊
Meals will feed one toddler meal or two baby meals. Finger Foods vary: toddlers may eat from 2-5 per meal [breakfast, lunch or dinner] depending if they're hungry or not, and babies usually eat 2-3 per meal.
We do include eggs, cheese [milk], tree nuts [almonds and walnuts] and spelt flour in some of our snacks recipes. Research has shown that exposure to allergens during [falta completar] helps to stop allergies*. All ingredients are labelled on each container so you can easily identify which allergens are included in our snacks.
* Please note that we do manufacture in a kitchen that also processes allergens.
Our meals don't have any added sugar or salt. The only source of sugar in our foods comes from sugar naturally occurring in whole fruits/veggies or grains. Our food is flavoured with natural spices and herbs. We don’t use any additives or preservatives. Only ingredients you would use and of course, understand.
We have carefully crafted these meals to suit your baby’s and toddler’s developmental milestones. Unlike most adult table food, our meals are adjusted for the appropriate softness and consistency for babies and toddlers.
Depending on your child, the consumption amount varies. Babies on average should have 1-2 meals from 6-8 months, 3 meals by 9 months, and toddlers 3 meals and 2 snacks by 12 months of age. We encourage you to consult with your pediatrician if you’re unsure.
Absolutely yes! Whether you choose BLW or not (or opt for some combo of the two!) we believe that the decision you make is the right one. Beets & Berries is compatible with both feeding styles, whatever you choose is fine.
